FAQs
Have a question you’d like to ask? I am committed to giving patients the best care and experience I can. There is no such thing as a bad question when it comes to mental health. Please review the FAQ section below for some answers to your potential questions.
Deciding on a mental health provider can be a challenge. I am happy to schedule a brief phone call to answer any questions you might have, or to clarify anything listed below.
What is psychodynamic therapy?
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on understanding how past experiences and relationships influence how you behave, experience emotions, and relate to yourself and others. It is especially helpful for individuals seeking to develop deeper, longer-lasting change, and gain insight into how their mind works.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be helpful for individuals who feel stuck, emotionally distressed, or curious about why you might be falling into different patterns within your life that no longer serve you. Therapy might also be right for you if you are simply interested in learning about your own mind.
Do you take insurance?
I am a private-pay provider and do not accept insurance. I am able to provide all of my patients with a superbill upon request, and encourage all of my patients to submit the bill to their insurer, as some insurance companies provide up to 80% reimbursement.
What is the frequency of sessions?
Most patients attend therapy once per week. Frequency can be discussed and adjusted based on your needs and goals.
